Resumen
La infección fue reportada por primera vez en EE.UU., el brote de Colitis Hemorrágica y fue producido por un ECEH del serotipo O157:H7 no fermentador de sorbitol. De sde entonces ha sido responsable de al menos 26 brotes epidémicos de CH, los cuales tuv i e ron lugar en su mayor ía en EE.UU. , Canadá y Gran Bretaña (Ache son 1996)
