Objective. Determine the hematological values of 60 adult horses (> 4 years), clinically healthy and without prior pharmacological treatment; according to their reproductive status: castrated male, whole male, empty mare and pregnant mare. This work was carried out due to the scarce information regarding the hematological parameters in the different reproductive states of the Peruvian horse; since it is one of the great barriers that the veterinarian dedicated to the equine medical clinic has to face. Materials and methods. Blood was drawn from the jugular vein, previously applying a general clinical examination to the horses to confirm their good health. The samples were analyzed in the clinical pathology laboratory using manual methods, mathematical formulas and Drabkin method. Results. No statistically significant differences were found according to sex or reproductive status, except for the number of basophils that was greater in whole males. Conclusions. The hematological parameters were within the ranges established by the specialized literature, all this despite the fact that the groups differed in their reproductive states.
